Which puppy food….?
I get so confused looking at all the top rated puppy foods.
Innova
Canidae
Royal Canin
Chicken soup for Dog’s soul
Diamond
California Natural
Etc…
I’ve read that too much protein is bad for dogs (Esp for larger dogs), and then I’ve read this is a myth and not proven.
If it helps, I’m getting a German shepherd/Aussie shepherd mix in a few days, and having trouble choosing between these foods.
Personal experience or input would be nice as opposed to just facts. Thanks.
The innova is the best out of those and the protein rule does not apply with that breed. Just feed the adult dog food.
That rule applies to giant breed dogs, over 100 lbs is typically what that includes.
Royal canin is low quality and if you are interested in the california natural, skip it and go with the innova.

Canidae did change formulas to a lower quality, but it is still good quality. and the outsourced production to diamond, a low quality company. The reduced quality but it is still a decent brand.
