Dog Food Acana
Is Acana a good dog food?
I want to feed my Golden Retriever and Bulldog Acana as it is quite affordable to me and people say it is okay. Is this actually a great (or at least good) dog food or just an expensive but bad dog food like Pedigree? What are the materials used for the food, is meat the most common and is it grain-free?
What are some other dog food with prices more or less the same like Acana, but with equal+- qualities?
FYI to people who have seen my question on bulldog diseases… I have not yet owned a bulldog, actually. It’s just I will switch to Acana when I get a bulldog.
Acana is an excellent food, and yes, it’s grain-free. It’s manufactured by Champion Pet Foods. The only drawback to Acana is that it can be very hard to find as they have fairly limited production. In my area I’d have to travel an hour to buy it, for example.
Personally, I prefer Acana to Orijen (this company’s other label) as it is more suited to the needs of pets. Orijen is going to have more protein and fat than the average pet will ever need. If your dog is running the Iditarod or herding all day, then Orijen might be the better choice.
