Hills Cat Food Ur

hills cat food ur
2 y/o male cat is urinating blood vet prescribed cat food full of fillers does anyone know of a better choice?

The food choices are Purina UR st/ox, Hills Prescription Diet c/d or Royal Canin Urinary SO. I would like to use Wellness or any other “natural” food.

My vet prescribed Hill’s K/D for my cat when he went into renal failure. I was concerned about the low protein content. I decided to feed him good quality food instead and I switched to a rotation of Wellness, EVO, and Blue Buffalo wet foods. He is like a new cat now. I would definitely switch . Vets aren’t nutrition experts. Those companies pay them to sell those foods. In vet school, they only receive a few hours training on nutrition and the class is taught by food company reps. Merrick also makes an excellent food. It’s not readily available around here or I would be using it.

When my cat was diagnosed, a contact of mine told to me to join the Yahoo group “Whole Cat Health”. The members there are incredible in their knowledge. I would highly recommend you join.
