Innova Dog Food Diarrhea
Will my 1 yr. old PUPPY ever get used to adult dry dog food?
He did great on Innova puppy, but now at 1 yr. he needs adult food. He not taking it very well even with a slow transition. He wants to eat grass all the time and some days does not want to eat. What should I do? I tried Innova adult, canidae now I am tyring Wellness Core. He has no diarrhea with the Wellness core, but his tummy is upset and he is eating grass. I don’t know what to do.
Just so you know… eating grass does not necessarily mean he has an upset tummy… It can indicate a need for more Fiber in the diet. Studies have shown that increasing the fiber in their diet can curb the grass eating.
As for the adult food… you are supposed to gradually wean the dog onto a new food!!! You should never just switch cold turkey… you can really bother their stomachs that way… stick with the same brand of food and buy the puppy food he was eating and feed the in halves… then slowly (your dog seems sensitive) wean him off the puppy food! This type of problem could have easily been avoided by contacting your veterinarian… any LVT there can help you out…. Happy Puppy Feeding!
