Pet Food Companies Ingredients

Rx dog food w/organic ingredients?
I have been feeding my Terrier an organic raw diet for dogs who suffer from allergies. Recently, my vet allerted me to a potential kidney problem after doing blood work & urinalisys and suggested I change her food to a Rx kidney friendly food. (She’s 10 and otherwise healthy.) He was aware of 2 brands: Purina NF & Science Diet KD. Both are made with corn, which is a big allergen for her.
I would love to find an organic, corn free kibble that is formulated to be gentle on the kidneys. (Especially in light of the recent Menu foods horror.)
We travel a lot & I’m not ready to start cooking for her.
Does anyone have any ideas about alternative pet food companies that can give me what I’m looking for?
Thanks in advance!
I can relate. I have an older dog that shows some kidney problems from lab work and my vet wants me to feed Science Diet KD. It’s really junk food, like all of the Science Diet products, but it does seem to work. A friend of mine’s dog had a very high BUN and after just 2 months on this food, his values were normal. Since my dog’s labs were only slightly evalated, I did some research and found that if the food is low in phosphorus and lower in protein, it is easier on the kidneys. Many of the premium senior foods qualify. I used Senior Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover and 3 months later, when my dog had labs redone, they were normal. This dog is now 15 and his kidney values are still normal! I have also fed Canidae Platinum and his values remained normal. I have also read that canned premium food rather than kibble may be better for a dog with kidney issues, so maybe try the canned Canidae or Wellness, or Chicken Soup or any senior premium canned food.
Hope this helps
