Is it okay to feed a 9 month old puppy with adult dog food?

I was recently feeding my 2 pit pupps with Solid Gold Puppy food but i went to petco ‘n they were out of stock till this comming Friday. I didn’t want to buy other low quality dog food, so I decided to get Solid Gold Wolfking adult dog food for my doggies. I know its somewhat lower on protein and crude fat, but i guess it was better than the other brands. They did like the food, but I don’t know if I made the best decision.

In the future, try to never run all the way out of your dogs’ food. That way you have a day or two in case you need to check other stores or if you do have to switch you’ll have enough to blend them over to the new diet.

At 9 mo. they should be ok with a good adult food. In the old days there was no such thing as puppy food. If you read labels, the good quality adult food has just as much protein as some of the cheaper puppy foods.

And some pups don’t need or do well on super “hot” food (high protein).

Mine are on Innova EVO, but they burn off the calories and it’s hard to keep weight on them.
